During your stay at Virtua, you will have access to a variety of services. And if your visit is a hospital stay, you will have resources available to you from your personal device. When you are staying at any of our Virtua hospitals, the MyChart app is here to assist you. “Your Hospital Stay” is viewable when you are in the hospital and supports communication with your care team. Learn more here.

 

Appointment Information

With Palm-Vein Scanning, Your Check-In and Identification Are Faster and More Secure

At your next visit, you’ll have the option to enroll in PatientSecure palm-vein scanning, which identifies you using the unique characteristics of your palm veins. Palm-vein scanning provides a fast and secure way to correctly identify you and accurately link to your medical record, and it minimizes the amount of personal information you share in public. 

Your one-time enrollment is easy – we’ll assist you at your next visit. Once enrolled, you can use the palm scanner at patient registration throughout all Virtua care locations.

Phone Services

Phone service is available at the patient's bedside. Upon admission, you will get a phone number so friends and family can call you directly.

There is no charge for local calls. 

For long distance and toll calls, you may use a credit card or calling card. Calls may also be charged to your home or a third party if someone is available to authorize the call. 

Use of cell phones is allowed in most areas of the hospital. Please remember to bring your cell phone charger with you for your stay.


Free Wireless Internet

Visitors are invited to use Virtua's wireless internet access. Virtua offers the free service to patients and visitors. You can take advantage of the connection at every inpatient and outpatient location.

To access the internet using a notebook with Windows:

  • Turn on device
  • Locate the available wireless connections
  • Log onto the VGuest network

Gift Shops

A wide selection of snacks, gift items and other assorted goods are available in the Virtua gift shops located at each hospital. The gift shops carry a wide assortment of get well, congratulations and thinking of you gifts. In addition, you can get a quick grab-and-go snack, flowers, greeting cards and other unique gifts. CaringBridge

CaringBridge® is a service that provides free, secure, easy-to-use web pages for patients and their families, so they can update all their loved ones simultaneously. Best of all, patients and their families can create and update their pages without leaving the hospital. They can access the Internet through the GetWellNetwork in patient rooms or from their own laptop using Virtua's free wireless connection. Every free, personalized CaringBridge website includes:

  • Patient care journal to update family and friends
  • Guestbook for messages of love
  • Photo gallery
  • Free online support for using the service
