Our Approach to Dentistry
Dental care, checkups, and cleanings are as essential to your overall health as primary care and annual physicals. And we try to make that care easy on you.
We take it slow, using your first exam to get to know you, learn about your medical history, and take x-rays. The dentist will examine your mouth and gently check your teeth and gums.
Together you’ll discuss the results of your x-rays and exam and create a treatment plan. Depending on your dental needs, your plan may include a cleaning every 6 months or follow-up treatment to care for tooth damage, decay, or gum disease. Our dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists work with you to ensure your treatment plan is completed promptly.
We’re also here in emergencies – if you experience a cracked tooth or sudden pain or throbbing. We try to see and treat patients the same day.
Care for complex dental needs
If you have an infection in your tooth, we do some root canals onsite. However, we’ll refer you to an endodontist if you have a more complicated case. Or, we’ll refer you to an oral surgeon if you need specialized care to remove teeth or treat jaw pain caused by jaw joint disorders like TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder).
If we need to refer you to a specialist, we’ll provide you the name, phone number, and a prescription for your treatment. We also check to make sure they take your insurance.
