Virtua Health Shines with Spring 2024 Awards and Recognition

In addition to being the season for National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week, late spring is also the time when many health care organizations issue prestigious awards. Virtua Health, the largest health system in South Jersey and a not-for-profit organization, has earned several awards in recent weeks, including recognition for its chief human resource officer, Rhonda Jordan.

NJHA Award for Diversity and Inclusion: At the “Best of the Beach” awards ceremony on July 11, the New Jersey Hospital Association will honor the exceptional health care teams, people and programs nominated by their peers as “the best of the best.” Rhonda Jordan, SHRM-SCP, Virtua executive vice president, and chief human resources officer, will receive the Diversity and Inclusion Award. Jordan is a leader in supporting diversity, inclusion, and equity at Virtua on behalf of its patients, community, and staff. Jordan will also be featured in the upcoming “Who’s Who in Healthcare” article issued by South Jersey Business Magazine. 

Becker’s Healthcare Top Places to Work in Healthcare: Virtua Health is proud to be among the employers featured in Becker’s 150+ Top Places to Work in Healthcare. This list “highlights hospitals, health systems and health care companies that prioritize workplace excellence and the happiness, satisfaction, wellbeing and fulfillment of their employees.” Becker’s also named Virtua President and CEO Dennis Pullin one of the Great Leaders in Healthcare.

NJBIZ Health Care Heroes: Virtua and its people earned two awards as part of NJBIZ’s annual “Health Care Heroes” program.

Dr. Elizabeth Revesz was named a Physician of the Year. Dr. Revesz is an esteemed breast surgeon with the Penn Medicine | Virtua Health Cancer Program; she is also featured in this video highlighting a young breast cancer survivor’s story.

The second award went to Virtua’s WE Thrive program in the Workplace Wellness category. WE Thrive is dedicated to staff well-being, which fosters a cohesive workforce. The WE Thrive initiative aims to help colleagues understand that they are valued and vital contributors to their mission-driven organization. WE Thrive strives to support all aspects of employee well-being, from emotional safety to financial solvency to a feeling of belonging and more.
