These events are rain or shine. Food will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Each person or family will receive a 12- to 14-pound frozen turkey, celery, onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, Idaho potatoes, and spices for the turkey.
At the Willingboro giveaway, visitors can also check out Virtua’s Eat Well Mobile Farmers Market, which will be on site. The year-round store-on-wheels brings healthy, affordable food to underserved local communities, along with Virtua’s larger Eat Well Mobile Grocery Store.
Also noteworthy: Virtua Health has received a major local award for its overall work to reduce food insecurity. The Food Bank of South Jersey will present Virtua with the 2021 Feeding South Jersey Champion award on Nov. 18.
