Hospice Care

Hospice provides emotional, physical, and spiritual care in the final stages of life.

Being with the people you love matters, especially when your prognosis is measured in months instead of years. Our hospice team provides physical, emotional, and spiritual care to relieve symptoms of discomfort and stress for you and your family.

Our Approach to Hospice Care

Hospice helps you maintain control over your life, managing your symptoms so you can be comfortable and live with dignity in the ways that are most important to you.

You and your family are surrounded by an extra layer of care and support from physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, and home health aides. Together, they provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care to relieve symptoms of pain and stress. This includes managing pain, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, and problems eating, drinking, or communicating.

Our team also helps you and your loved ones address feelings of anxiety, depression, and grief.

Working with community partners, we provide four levels of hospice care:

  • Routine home care—regular visits from members of your care team
  • Continuous home care—more intensive, short-term support to manage a flare-up of symptoms that you wish to receive at home rather than in the hospital
  • Respite care—a temporary, short-term stay in a skilled  facility to give your caregivers a rest
  • General inpatient care—a temporary stay in the hospital if your pain or other symptoms cannot be effectively managed at home

Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most insurance plans.
