Vein and Vascular Care
Our specialists use the latest treatments for vein and vascular problems, such as varicose and spider veins, PAD, and blood clots.
Spider and varicose veins—the squiggly, purple, sometimes bulging veins on your legs—can be considered a simply cosmetic issue. But if you find it harder walking around, or experience pain, numbness, or cramping in your legs, you may have a medical condition that’s more than skin deep.
Our Approach to Vein and Vascular Care
We treat the full range of vein and vascular problems, including varicose veins, peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, and venous insufficiency.
Many conditions can be relieved or completely eliminated with no hospital stay and minimal discomfort, so you can get back to moving at the speed of your life.
Conditions We Treat
Arteries and veins are two of the body’s main types of blood vessels. Arteries carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart to the body. Veins carry blood used by the body back towards the heart. Both types need to remain healthy so blood can flow smoothly and in the right direction.
Vein conditions we treat include:
- Spider veins
- Varicose veins
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Venous insufficiency
- Venous malformations
- Chronic venous obstruction
- May-Thurner syndrome
- Arteriovenous fistulas
Arterial conditions we treat include:
- Peripheral artery disease (PAD)
- Atherosclerosis
- Pulmonary embolism
- Carotid artery stenosis
Lymphatic conditions we treat include:
- Lymphedema
Vein and Vascular Tests
If you or your doctor suspects you may have vascular disease, you may undergo several tests. These painless, noninvasive tests can determine the presence, location, and severity of the disease. Tests include:
- Duplex ultrasound, measuring the speed and direction of blood flow
- Ankle-brachial index, localizing the location of a blockage in the arm or leg
Vein and Vascular Treatments
Our team uses the most advanced approaches to treat your condition. Techniques include:
- Sclerotherapy: An injection of a solution directly into a spider or varicose vein, causing it to fade from view
- Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT)/Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA): Different types of energy are used to seal off and treat larger larger varicose veins
- Ambulatory Microphlebectomy: A technique for treating varicose veins that removes the faulty vein through a series of tiny incisions
- Thrombectomy: A surgical procedure to remove a blood clot in an artery or vein
- Angioplasty: A catheter-based procedure that uses a special balloon to widen a narrowed or blocked blood vessel
- Stenting: The insertion of small, expandable tubes called stents to support narrowed or weakened arteries, often performed along with an angioplasty
- Atherectomy: A catheter-based procedure that uses an attached rotating blade to shave plaque from a vessel wall
- Endarterectomy: A surgical procedure to remove plaque buildup in an artery
- Peripheral Arterial Bypass Surgery: A surgical procedure for treating clogged arteries that reroutes the blood supply around the blocked area
